In May 2012 twenty years of the financial instrument supporting environmental and nature conservation - LIFE program - will pass. Therefore, across the Europe all beneficiaries of the LIFE project organize several meetings dedicated to the project.

The LIFE project is the only one such initiative in Europe dedicated to projects in the field on environmental conservation. The main aim of the LIFE is to initiate and to facilitate general rules of environmental protection and management. From the very beginning in 1992 till 2006 the LIFE program supported 3104 projects concerning environment protection in the whole Europe and the pooled value of all the financial supports denotes 2,200,000,000 €. Similar financial support is planned for the years 2007-2013.

In May 2012 the Naturalists Club is going to organize meeting as a part of pan-European initiatives related with the 20 years of LIFE. In 25.05 we are going to organize meeting for local governments on possibilities related with LIFE program in conservation of xerothermic grasslands.
