Out of 40 individuals of Echium russicum from the UMCS Botanical Garden collection planted last year in the 'Zachodniowołyńska Dolina Bugu' site, 30 survived the inclement winter weather. Only 10 out of 20 specimens survived in the 'Dobużek' site because of the damage caused by wild animals. Another Echium russicum plantings are being planned in the Natura 2000 sites listed above.
